About the event
In an effort to educate and motivate couples through our own personal marriage journey; James and I are hosting our 5th Fighting for Marriage Couple's Retreat 18-20 July 2025. Our purpose is titled “Building Marriages: One Brick at a Time” (Nehemiah 2: 4-5; 18). Verse 18, the ‘b’ clause says: “They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So, they began this good work.”
Why should you sponsor?
Post pandemic (I.e endemic era), we can all attest that our families are not the same and it starts with the marriage. Our goal is encourage healthy relationships through real life teachings through our transparency. My husband and I's ability to be an open book has sparked many conversations and has resparked many marriages. And this is just the beginning. Join us.
Nakia RedmonJames and Nakia Redmon are residents of Madison, AL. James grew up in this area while Nakia was born and raised in Jackson, MS. On day 1 of the event, we will have been married for 16 years with two beautiful children, Trey (14) and London (12). We are members of, The Becoming Church, under Senior Pastor Michael Hamilton. Nakia is also the Author of, “I will Fight for My Marriage,” a marriage memoir sharing stories of our marriage. Allowing God to lead, we decided to host gatherings for couples to bring back the love, fun, and laughter that is often overshadowed with the daily hustle and bustle of working full-time jobs and raising families.
