About the event

Homebrew Austin was built by the community, for the community. We started when Rooster Teeth announced that they could not host their event (RTX). Following the announcement, the community rallied together and said,     "F**k it we'll do it ourselves."

 Sadly, shortly after the announcement, news broke that Rooster Teeth was shutting down. 

However, the community united to support all the creators who lost their jobs and wanted to establish a new platform for their projects. We also are dedicated to helping the community as well. Our goal continues to be bringing everyone together, showing our love and appreciation for the people who bring us joy and laughter every day, and just having a great time.

Hello! I’m William McDonald, a dedicated lighting designer with IATSE in Austin, TX. Beyond my professional work, I have a deep passion for the creators who once brought magic to Rooster Teeth. With the shutdown and many artists branching off in different directions, I saw an opportunity to build something unique: a safe, welcoming space for fans to continue sharing their love for the content and the incredible community they’ve been part of for years.

I created this event with one clear goal in mind: to provide a place where fans and artists alike can come together, celebrate the content, and foster meaningful connections. This event isn’t just a gathering; it’s a celebration of the creators, the shows, and the fans who made it all possible.
